Oral Assessments
When we see you for your regular dental hygiene assessment in the Calgary area, we have a checklist of things we cover. Arches Mobile Dental Hygienists are geared towards keeping your smile healthy.
First, we take a look at your medical history to understand your overall health. Then, we check your vital signs to make sure everything is in order. We also do oral cancer screenings to ensure we catch any potential issues early on.
Our gum disease assessments and dental exams are all part of the package. Helping us spot and address any concerns related to your gums and cavities. If you’re looking for a more thorough assessment, we might recommend dental x-rays. These give us an even better view of what’s happening beneath the surface.

Emergency Care
In recognizing the challenge to access the care of a dentist in some situations, two of our dental hygienists can provide temporary fillings to help limit discomfort until a dentist can be seen for long-term restorative treatment.

Appointment Expectations
- Set-up time is about 30 minutes prior to the start of your dental hygiene care
- An average dental hygiene care appointment is approximately one hour BUT treatment times may vary depending on many factors (i.e. last dental hygiene treatment, diet, brushing/flossing habits, etc.)
- Clean-up time is about 30 minutes after the completion of your dental hygiene care
- We request that a minimum of at least 2 people be booked at one location, but we can accommodate up to 8 people at one location between 2 different clinicians. In special circumstances (i.e. bedridden individuals in long-term care facilities), we can see a single person at one location.
Ensure there is adequate space for our set-up. We recommend choosing a space that is:

Has a nearby “regular” 120V electrical socket(s)

Does Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene direct bill?
Yes! We direct bill.
Does Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene charge for traveling to a location for service?
Great news for those in Calgary, Airdrie, and Cochrane areas! We’re delighted to let you know that there’s no extra charge for us to bring our dental hygiene services directly to you. For locations beyond Calgary, Airdrie, and Cochrane, travel charges will be based on the distance (in kilometers) from the nearest city limit of Calgary, Airdrie, or Cochrane. We’re here to make dental care as convenient as possible for you!
Is there a minimum number of patients that must be booked at one location?
Ideally a minimum of 2 people per location must be scheduled. However, we make exceptions in cases where individuals are bed-ridden and cannot be easily moved from location to location.
How much space should I prepare for Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene to operate at my location?
To increase the efficiency of our services please ensure that an area of approximately 9 ft x 6 ft is cleared, PRIOR to our scheduled arrival time. A minimalistic space would be preferred.
Does Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene require anything else?
Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene will require a 120V outlet within the treatment area and access to a washroom close to the treatment area.
What time should I expect Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene to arrive and leave at my location?
A member of the Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene team will arrive at your location a minimum of 30 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time for set-up. Please allow approximately 30 minutes for Arches Dental Hygiene to take down and clean up our set-up after treatments are completed.
Do I have to have a dentist prior to seeing a dental hygienist at Arches Mobile Dental Hygiene?
No. However, to ensure we are providing you with the best care we can, if you do not have an existing dentist we will provide you with a selection of partnering dentists for you to choose from. This is important because any necessary assessments that we have completed, such as x-rays, will be sent to the dentist of your choice for a second review to promote comprehensive care of your smile.
